What is the Simplified KJV?

Barbour’s new Simplified KJV builds off the familiarity and trustworthiness of the King James Bible while removing its challenges—antiquated language and punctuation—through judicious updating. Keeping all the original translation work of the 1611 Bible, the Simplified KJV refreshes old verb forms, breaks up long sentences by changing colons and semicolons to periods, adds paragraphing, and inserts quotation marks into spoken language. Old forms of address are brought up to date, with divine pronouns capitalized. Confusing older terms (such as wroth or divers) are updated for greater comprehension.

Why

Often times, Christians feel like they have to choose between the KJV they know and trust and a newer translation that's easier to read. We wanted to break that cycle and develop a version (not a translation) with only minor, non-contextual updates to the trusted KJV. With this new Simplified KJV, readers will have the same translation they rely on, just updated for easier reading!
